Foundation Day

Monday — Foundation Day

Have you ever prayed for something, received it, and then discovered
it came with more than you expected?

Today's Scripture: "Now in these days when the disciples were
increasing in number, a complaint by the Hellenists arose against the
Hebrews because their widows were being neglected in the daily
distribution." — Acts 6:1

Reflection:

The early church had just come through something extraordinary. They
had been threatened, arrested, and beaten — and they responded by
praying together in one accord. The Holy Spirit filled them. The place
shook. And then they went out and spoke the word with boldness.

God answered their prayer. The church multiplied.

And right in the middle of that growth — problems. Real, practical,
people-shaped problems.

It's tempting to believe that when God really moves, everything
smooths out. That the breakthrough is the hard part, and everything
after is just riding the wave. But Acts 6 tells a different story.
Growth is a gift, but it is also a weight. If you're not built to
carry it, growth can break you.

Here's the foundational truth this week is built on: God doesn't just
shake buildings. He raises people. When the church prays and God
moves, the answer isn't just more momentum — it's more maturity. More
servants. More disciples who are ready to carry the weight of what God
is building.

The disciples were increasing in number. That was the answer to
prayer. But the answer to prayer required a response. And this week,
we're going to explore what that response looks like for us.

Today's Application: Think of one area in your life where God has
answered a prayer — and ask yourself honestly: Am I prepared to carry
what he gave me?

A Closing Thought: God is not surprised by the weight of what he's
building. He's been preparing you for it longer than you know.
