Forward Day

Friday — Forward Day

As you close out this week and head into the weekend, here's the truth Acts 12 wants to leave ringing in your ears: nothing stops the kingdom of God.

Today's Scripture: "But the word of God continued to spread and flourish." — Acts 12:24

Reflection:
This single verse is Luke's editorial comment on everything that just happened in Acts 12. James was killed. Peter was arrested. Herod was at the height of his power. And yet — but — the Word of God spread and flourished anyway.

Luke does this repeatedly throughout Acts. Every time the opposition seems to gain ground, he pauses the narrative to say: look at what the enemy could not stop. Kings come and go. Empires rise and fall. Circumstances shift. But the kingdom of God keeps moving forward.

And here's what's remarkable about how it moves: not because circumstances were easy, not because the culture was friendly, not because the budget was comfortable. The church advanced — and still advances — because Jesus is alive.

That means your yes matters. Your prayer matters. Your willingness to show up, even imperfectly, even with questions, even when the chains still feel on — it matters. The kingdom doesn't need your perfection. It needs your availability.

This weekend, as you gather with your church family, bring this week's truth with you: heaven is already moving. The angel is already in the cell. The chains are already loosening. Keep praying. Keep showing up. Keep saying yes.

Today's Application: Head into this weekend with one declaration on your lips: The kingdom of God is advancing — and I am part of it. Say it out loud. Mean it.

A Closing Thought: The same Jesus who broke Peter's chains is still opening doors. Walk through yours.
