Wednesday — Application Day
We spend a lot of time waiting for a big, obvious open door. What if God's already opened one, and we just haven't noticed?
Today's Scripture: "A certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul." — Acts 16:14
Reflection: When Paul finally arrived in Macedonia, there was no grand stage, no large crowd, no obvious ministry opportunity. There was a riverside. A small group of women. And one woman named Lydia whose heart God had already been preparing.
Notice the division of labor here: the Lord opened her heart. Paul showed up and spoke.That's it. Paul didn't manufacture Lydia's transformation — he simply made himself available, went where the Spirit led, and trusted God to do what only God can do.
And in the same chapter, the same pattern repeats — with a slave girl who needed freedom, and a jailer who needed saving. Three completely different people, three completely different stories, one available messenger.
Here's the practical reality for your Wednesday: the open door God is inviting you through may not look like a ministry platform. It might be the coworker who's been asking hard questions. The neighbor going through a painful divorce. The family member you've been praying for so long you've almost stopped expecting anything to change.
The Holy Spirit is already at work in the people around you. Your job isn't to manufacture transformation — it's to show up and speak.
Today's Application: Identify one person in your life who might be a "Lydia" — someone God may already be preparing. Pray for them by name today, and ask God for one simple, natural opportunity to show up for them this week.
A Closing Thought: Someone is already waiting on the other side of your obedience. You don't have to have all the answers — you just have to be available.
