Be honest — when doors keep closing, doesn't part of you start to wonder if you missed God somewhere along the way?
Today's Scripture: "And a vision appeared to Paul in the night. A man of Macedonia stood and pleaded with him, saying, 'Come over to Macedonia and help us.' Now after he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the gospel to them." — Acts 16:9–10
Reflection: Yesterday we sat with the closed doors. Today, let's be honest about how that actually feels.
When God says no to something that seemed so right, the questions come quickly. Did I hear him correctly? Did I miss something? Am I even in his will anymore? These aren't faithless questions — they're deeply human ones. Paul's team must have felt them too, standing at the edge of regions they couldn't enter, wondering which way to turn.
What kept them moving? They didn't sit down and quit. They didn't push harder against the closed doors. They kept walking — and eventually, the vision came. The clarity came. But not before the uncertainty.
Here's the hard truth about Spirit-led living: it doesn't always feel like confident clarity. Sometimes it feels like walking in the dark, trusting that the God who closed the last door knows exactly where the next one is. The opposite of courage isn't fear — it's discouragement. And discouragement whispers that the silence means God has forgotten you.
He hasn't. He's positioning you.
Today's Application: When doubt creeps in today, try replacing the question "Did I miss God?" with this declaration: "God is not finished — he's redirecting me." Say it out loud if you need to.
A Closing Thought: You don't have to have it all figured out to keep walking. Paul's team didn't either — and they ended up changing the direction of the entire gospel movement in Europe.
