Application Day
Wednesday — Application Day
We've spent two days with this story. Monday we saw that God prepares people before we arrive. Tuesday we sat with the uncomfortable truth that we all have a "sheet" — categories and walls that limit where we're willing to go. Today, we get practical.
Today's Scripture: "Arise therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them." — Acts 10:20 (NKJV)
Reflection:
When God finally got through to Peter, the instruction was simple and direct: Get up. Go. Don't hesitate. Not "figure out a strategy first." Not "wait until you feel ready." Just go.
Here are three concrete ways to let God expand your heart this week:
1. Pray specifically for one person. Think of someone in your life who seems far from God. Pray for them by name today — not a general prayer, but a specific one. Ask God to show you what He's already doing in them.
2. Take one small step toward someone outside your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be dramatic. Ask a coworker how they're really doing. Walk across the yard and introduce yourself to a neighbor. Show up for a family member who's been distant. The kingdom gets built in ordinary moments.
3. Identify your "sheet" and surrender it. What assumption, past hurt, or category has been limiting your reach? Write it down. Bring it to God. Tell Him you're willing to let Him expand what you thought you knew.
Churches don't drift into mission. They surrender into it.
Today's Application: Choose one of these three steps and do it today — not someday, today. Start small. God can work with small.
A Closing Thought: Every time the church moved forward in Acts, it was because somebody surrendered something. Today, it's your turn.
