Sometimes God's answer to your prayer looks completely different than what you were picturing — and far better.
Today's Scripture: "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun." — Psalm 37:5-6
Reflection:
There's a story woven through this past Sunday's sermon that quietly illustrates everything Acts 12 is about.
A pastor felt called to start a camp. He had a vision — a big piece of property, hundreds of acres, something he could see clearly in his mind. He prayed over properties. He walked land with a backpack, a Bible, and a bottle of water, asking God to show him what it would look like. He had no budget, no strategy, no fully developed plan. Just a prayer meeting, and a yes.
God answered — but not the way he expected. Instead of land, God opened a door to Royal Family Kids Camp, a ministry serving children from some of the hardest backgrounds imaginable. The vision for a camp was right. The shape of it was God's to decide.
The first camp didn't happen until seven years after that first prayer meeting. Seven years. But in the years that followed, hundreds of children experienced the love of a heavenly Father — many for the very first time.
That's what Acts 12 looks like in real life. Not a clean, fast answer. But a faithful God who honors persistent, surrendered prayer with fruit that outlasts any of our original plans.
Today's Application: Think of a prayer you've been carrying for a long time. Ask God today not just to answer it — but to expand your vision for how He might answer it.
A Closing Thought: God isn't slow. He's building something bigger than what you can currently see. Keep praying.
