Faith When I'm Afraid

DAY 2 — FAITH WHEN I’M AFRAID

Read: Matthew 8:26 "He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm."

“Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?”
Jesus didn’t pretend the storm wasn’t scary. He challenged the disciples to trust Him in the middle of their fear.

Having faith doesn’t mean you never get scared.
You might be afraid about school.
You might be afraid about your family.
You might be afraid about your future.
You might be afraid that you won’t fit in.
You might be afraid of what people think about you.
Being afraid doesn’t make you a failure.

What you do with your fear matters.
You can allow fear to control you, or you can take your fear to Jesus.
When fear says, “What if everything goes wrong?”
Faith says, “Jesus is still with me.”

Think about:
What fear do you need to give to Jesus today?

Pray:
“Jesus, I am sometimes afraid, but I choose to trust You. Help me remember that You are bigger than anything I’m facing. Amen.”
