Friday — Forward Day
The week is almost done. Sunday is almost here. And somewhere between now and then, God wants to use you — exactly as you are.
Today's Scripture: "The same Spirit who brought Aquilla and Priscilla, who spoke to Paul in the night, who used two tentmakers to raise up one of the greatest leaders in the early church — that Spirit lives in you."
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us..." — Ephesians 3:20
Reflection: This week we've walked through a single chapter of Acts and found a truth that spans every century: God builds His church through ordinary, available people.
Not perfect people. Not people who have it all figured out. People who show up. People who stay. People who say yes even when they feel unqualified — because they've learned that the one who called them is more than qualified enough.
Paul was discouraged when God sent him Aquilla and Priscilla. Apollos was gifted but incomplete when Aquilla and Priscilla took him aside. And Pastor Scott was a mess at 3 a.m. when Tom showed up with nothing but his presence and his willingness to stay.
In every case, God didn't wait for perfect conditions. He used the people who were available.
As you head into the weekend, carry this with you: You are not too ordinary, too tired, or too unfinished for God to use. The Spirit who moved through tentmakers and wreckers and night visions is the same Spirit living in you right now.
Be available. That's enough.
Today's Application: Before Sunday, ask God: "Who do You want me to show up for this weekend? Who needs me to be their Aquilla, their Priscilla, their Tom?" Then keep your eyes open.
A Closing Thought: The best is yet to come — not because everything will be easy, but because the God who builds His church through ordinary people is still building. And He's not done with you yet.
