Have you ever been absolutely certain you were headed in the right direction — only to have every door slam shut in your face?
Today's Scripture: "Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them." — Acts 16:6–7
Reflection: Paul and his team were doing everything right. They were preaching the gospel, building the church, following God's mission — and the Holy Spirit kept saying no. First Asia. Then Bithynia. Both were reasonable, strategic choices. Both were good ideas. And God shut both doors.
Here's what's remarkable: the Spirit didn't close those doors because Paul had done something wrong. He closed them because he already had something better in mind — a vision of Macedonia, a woman named Lydia, a jailer who would come to faith that very night. The closed doors weren't rejection. They were redirection.
This week, we're walking through Acts 16 together — a chapter that shows us what Spirit-led living actually looks like. And it starts here, with this uncomfortable but liberating truth: God guides us not only by the doors he opens, but by the ones he closes.
