DAY 1 — JESUS IS IN THE BOAT
Read: Matthew 8:23–27
23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
The disciples weren’t doing anything wrong when the storm came. They were actually following Jesus. Yet a storm still found them.
Sometimes we think that if we’re following God, life should be easy. But following Jesus doesn’t mean we will never face storms. It means we don’t face them alone.
Jesus was in the boat.
The disciples couldn’t see what Jesus was doing, but Jesus wasn’t worried. He knew the storm wasn’t bigger than Him.
Maybe you’re facing something today that feels bigger than you. Remember this:
The presence of a storm doesn’t mean the absence of Jesus.
He is still in the boat.
Think about:
What is one “storm” you’re facing right now?
Pray:
“Jesus, help me remember that You are with me even when I don’t understand what is happening. Help me trust You in my storm. Amen.”
