Thursday — Testimony Day
Sometimes the most powerful moments of ministry start with a U-turn.
Today's Scripture: "But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness..." — Acts 26:16
"...to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light..." — Acts 26:18
Reflection:
This week we've been building toward something: the idea that God sends us into other people's futures. Today, let's see what that actually looks like.
There was a gas station. A young employee named Gip who just wanted a job where he could work with his hands. A simple transaction. A quick goodbye.
And then — a prompting. Pray for him.
The door was already open. The car was already pulling away. Every practical reason said, keep going. But the prompting didn't quit.
Two blocks later, a U-turn.
Back inside the store, past the line of waiting customers, up to the register. "I'm supposed to pray for you."
Gip fell to his knees, crying.
Within minutes, people pumping gas had gathered. Hands were laid on him. A woman who had lost her father prayed over a young man who had just lost his. The parking lot became a sanctuary.
None of it would have happened without the U-turn.
This is Acts 26:18 alive in Mid Michigan — eyes opened, darkness pushed back, a life turned toward God. Not in a church building. In a gas station parking lot. By ordinary people who stayed obedient.
That's available to every one of us.
Today's Application: Think back over the past week. Was there a moment you felt prompted to say something, pray for someone, or reach out — and didn't? It's not too late. Make the U-turn today.
A Closing Thought: God's love is so real, so relentless, that He arranges divine appointments even on sabbatical. Stay open — He's already setting up the next one.
