Foundation Day

Monday — Foundation Day
Have you ever told yourself, "I'll get more involved once things settle down"? Most of us have. But what if the mission was never meant to wait?

Today's Scripture: "And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him." — Acts 28:30–31

Reflection: The Apostle Paul's journey to Rome didn't go as planned. He was shipwrecked. He was bitten by a snake. He ended up on an island he never intended to visit. And yet, in every single one of those unexpected places, Paul kept doing the same thing — pointing people to Jesus.

He didn't wait for the storm to pass. He didn't wait until he had a proper building, a stable situation, or a cleared calendar. He served God in the storm, on the island, in the rented house, in the waiting.

This is the pattern the Book of Acts shows us over and over: circumstances change, but the mission doesn't have to. Paul's assignment wasn't tied to his comfort or his plans. It was tied to his King.

The same is true for us. Whether life feels steady or completely upended right now, the call to love God and love people doesn't go on pause. The mission is portable — it goes wherever you go.

Today's Application: Think of one circumstance in your life you've been using as a reason to wait. Ask God today what it might look like to serve him in that season rather than after it.

A Closing Thought: You don't need everything figured out to take the next faithful step. God has never waited for perfect conditions — and neither did Paul.
