Monday — Foundation Day
Have you ever had something said about you that got inside your head and started rearranging things — changing the way you saw yourself?
Today's Scripture: "I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men." — Acts 24:16 (NKJV)
Reflection:
In Acts 24, the apostle Paul is standing before a Roman governor. Religious leaders have hired a professional attorney to tear him apart publicly. They call him a troublemaker. A dangerous cult leader. A man who stirs up riots across the empire. These aren't anonymous comments from strangers — they're coming from the most respected voices in the room.
And Paul doesn't lose his composure. He doesn't shrink. He doesn't come out swinging. He simply stands in who he is.
How? Because Paul's identity was so secure in Christ that someone else's accusation couldn't reach inside him and rearrange what was there.
This is the foundation the entire week is built on: your identity in Christ is not up for debate. Reputation is what people say about you. Character is who you are when God is watching. Accusations can damage the first, but they cannot touch the second — unless you let them.
Paul's anchor wasn't his circumstances. It wasn't Felix's opinion of him. It was a clear conscience before God. That's a goal worth building toward.
Today's Application: Take a moment today to ask: Is my identity settled in Christ, or am I still letting other people's words define me? Write down one truth God says about you and keep it somewhere visible.
A Closing Thought: You are not who your accusers say you are. You are who God says you are — and he has already spoken. Let that be enough today.
