Wednesday — Application Day
We've all felt that Sunday-morning conviction that somehow disappears by Tuesday. What would it look like to actually do something with it this time?
Today's Scripture: "Felix was afraid and answered, 'Go away for now; when I have a convenient time I will call for you.'" — Acts 24:25 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Felix had the gospel delivered to him personally. Paul spoke directly about righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment. Felix felt it — the text says he was afraid. And then he said the words that would define his story: "When I have a convenient time."
Two years passed. Felix was replaced. That convenient time never came.
The warning is clear — and it's closer to home than we'd like to admit. Someday I'll deal with that bitterness. Someday I'll get serious about my prayer life. Someday I'll have that faith conversation with my kids. Someday I'll step into a small group and stop doing this alone.
Someday feels responsible. It sounds like wisdom. But it's often just a softer way of saying no.
Here are three questions to sit with today — not to create guilt, but to create movement:
1. Where is God asking me to stand firm right now? In your marriage, your integrity at work, your purity, your calling?
2. Is there a "convenient time" I've been waiting for that hasn't come? What step of obedience have you been postponing?
3. Who in my life needs to see my faith cost me something? Your kids, your coworkers, your neighbors — they're watching.
Today's Application: Choose one of these three questions and write a one-sentence honest answer. Then take one small step today — not someday.
A Closing Thought: There has never been a convenient time to do the hard, right thing. But God has never needed perfect conditions to meet you in it.
