Challenge Day

Tuesday — Challenge Day
Let's be honest: keeping Jesus at the center sounds simple in a sermon. Living it out on a Tuesday is a different story.

Today's Scripture: "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." — Ephesians 4:3

Reflection: Yesterday we looked at how Paul kept his mission intact even when his circumstances fell apart. But there's another threat to the mission that's quieter and closer to home — the slow drift that happens when Jesus stops being the center.

Notice what Paul says in Ephesians 4:3. He doesn't say create unity. He says keep it. That's an important distinction. Unity in the body of Christ already exists because of what Jesus has done. Our job is to protect it — and that's where the real challenge begins.

Because when Jesus drifts from the center, other things rush in to fill the space. Music preferences. Personalities. Who gets recognized. Who gets their way. These aren't evil things on their own, but they become destructive when they take the seat that belongs to Jesus.

Here's a question worth sitting with: Am I asking what I want, or what the kingdom needs? One posture leads to division. The other leads to the kind of unity that makes people stop and take notice.

Biblical maturity isn't about having it all together. It's about knowing who you are in Christ so deeply that secondary things lose their power to divide you.

Today's Application: Identify one preference or expectation you've been holding tightly. Bring it to God in prayer and ask honestly: Is this about me, or about the kingdom?

A Closing Thought: Jesus has already made us one. Today, let's choose to protect what he's already built.
