Thursday — Testimony Day
What if God is healing you right now, and you won't even realize it until one day you look back and the fear is simply gone?
Today's Scripture: "I waited patiently for God to help me. Then he listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair… and set my feet on a hard, firm path… He has given me a new song to sing of praises to our God. Now many will hear of the glorious things he did for me and stand in awe before the Lord." — Psalm 40:1-3
Reflection:
This past Sunday, our church heard a testimony that stopped the room. A woman shared how crippling anxiety had been her constant companion for most of her life — rooted in childhood, compounded by painful relationships, and reinforced by years of fear and shame. She masked it with achievements. She managed it with medication. She survived it with sheer determination.
And then, slowly, almost imperceptibly, God began to reopen the well.
She grabbed hold of scripture. She chose to forgive — her bullies, her ex-husband, and most painfully, herself. She stopped inviting Christ into just one room of her life and began stepping fully into his presence. And one day, she realized the anxiety that had defined her for decades simply wasn't there anymore.
"I don't even know when God actually took that thing completely away," she said. "But he did."
That's how wells get reopened sometimes — not in one dramatic moment, but in the quiet, faithful, daily work of digging. Psalm 40 describes it perfectly: the lifting happens while you're still in the pit, waiting. The firm path appears beneath feet that were just sinking in mud.
Your testimony is being written too.
Today's Application: Think of one area where God has already brought you further than you were a year ago. Take a moment to thank him specifically for that progress — and let it build your faith for what's still ahead.
A Closing Thought: The God who opened her well is the same God who is working in yours. Keep digging. The water is there.
