Friday — Forward Day
There's a difference between inviting someone into your home and actually living in theirs.
Today's Scripture: "The more you grow in this way, the more you will grow strong spiritually and become faithful and useful to our Lord Jesus Christ." — 2 Peter 1:8
Reflection:
All week, we've been exploring what it means to reopen the wells — to uncover what God has already placed in our lives and remove the debris that's been blocking the flow. Today, as we head into the weekend, there's one more shift worth making.
It's not enough to invite Christ into parts of our lives. The invitation has to go both ways — and then we have to actually move in with him.
Think about how we sometimes approach faith: Lord, you're welcome in my Sunday mornings. You can have my prayer life. But this relationship, this habit, this fear, this corner of my heart — I'll handle that one. We compartmentalize. We manage. We give God access to the rooms we're comfortable with.
But wells don't open that way. Healing doesn't come through partial surrender. As this week's scripture says, growth is progressive and cumulative — faith leads to goodness, goodness leads to knowing God, knowing God leads to patience, patience leads to love. It builds. But only when we stop managing Jesus from a distance and step fully into the life he's already provided.
This Sunday, come ready to go deeper. Come ready to let go of something. Come expecting the wells to open further.
The water is there. The question is how far you're willing to dig.
Today's Application: Before Sunday, identify one area where you've been keeping Jesus at arm's length. Spend a few minutes in honest prayer, giving him full access to that space — not just an invitation, but an open door.
A Closing Thought: All in isn't a feeling — it's a decision. Make it today, and make it again tomorrow. The wells are worth it.
