Wednesday — Application Day
It's one thing to know the wells exist. It's another thing to pick up a shovel.
Today's Scripture: "But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith. You must also work hard to be good… learn to know God better and discover what he wants you to do." — 2 Peter 1:5
Reflection:
Peter is clear: faith is the starting point, not the finish line. Knowing God's goodness and experiencing it in your daily life requires active participation. The wells don't reopen themselves.
So what does digging actually look like? Here are three wells worth reopening this week:
The Well of the Word. Renewing your mind through scripture is one of the most powerful tools you have. Even five minutes in the morning reading a passage — and sitting with it — begins to loosen the packed-in debris. Start small. Stay consistent.
The Well of Prayer. Not a rehearsed list of requests, but honest conversation with God. Tell him where you are. Ask him to show you what he wants to do. The act of returning to prayer is itself a form of digging.
The Well of Transparency. We cannot fully reopen our wells alone. God designed us for community — people who can see what we sometimes can't, and who walk with us through the hard work of spiritual renewal. Is there someone in your life you can be honest with this week?
Digging is daily. But each day you choose it, the well opens a little more.
Today's Application: Choose one of the three wells above and commit to a specific, small action today — one chapter, one honest prayer, or one honest conversation.
A Closing Thought: Every shovel's worth of effort matters. You don't have to clear it all today — just dig a little deeper than yesterday.
